Claw Machine Project

This was our final project of semester one, and we were given a budget $35,000 to build whatever we wanted to. My group of four, decided to design, sketch, and build an old-fashioned, arcade claw machine from scratch. We had to research, brainstrom ideas, sketch our design, and build the machine with our VEX kits. Limitations included a $35,000 budget, three weeks for completion, and limited parts from the VEX kits.

Sketches/Brainstorm

In the begining stages of construction, we outlined our ideas and drew some preliminary sketches. We also wrote some sketch program code and divide the project into seperate parts for each group member to work on.

Problems:
Some of the problems my group faced are the following: We had trouble at first coming up with a design that would actually work and allow the claw to move all the directions it needed to, we had some problems with the code because all of our group members were inexpienced with programming, we had trouble giving the claw enough space to move and pick up candy, and we trouble with some of the VEX mechanisms because they weren't as efficient as we thought they were.
